Mirae Asset Group Chairman Park Hyeon-Joo received a plaque of appreciation from Seoul National University. This is because he has been recognized for his excellent scholarship of 5.28 billion won over the past 26 years.
Mirae Asset Group said on the 3rd that Chairman Park received a plaque of appreciation from Seoul National University President Yoo Hong-rim at a presentation ceremony held at Seoul National University on the 31st of last month. Chairman Park has donated scholarships to Seoul National University through the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon-Joo Foundation, which was created with 7.5 billion won in private funds in 2000. He has donated all of the dividends he received from Mirae Asset Management to the foundation for 15 years since 2010.
Chairman Park said, “I hope it will be a small foundation for students to realize their dreams in the wider world,” adding, “We will continue to support the younger generation so that they do not lose hope and courage in the future.” President Yoo said, “I deeply appreciate the students for opening the door to courage and opportunity for the future,” adding, “The scholarship will be a strong support that blooms the possibilities of each and every talent.”
Mirae Asset Group has been operating various talent development programs since the foundation was established in 2000. As well as scholarship projects for domestic and foreign university students, global leadership camps and youth cultural experiences are representative. The Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Project has sent 7,444 scholarship students to 50 countries for 18 years since its launch in 2007.
Educational support activities are also continuing to enhance the creativity and career capabilities of vulnerable children and adolescents. Through the “Global Culture Experience Group,” teenagers from fifth grade to middle school students were given the opportunity to experience the wide world by exploring innovative companies in Shenzhen, China.
