Mirae Asset Appoints Robert P. Mulligan as SVP, Strategic Relationship Manager

Emerging markets leader Mirae Asset Global Investments announced today that Robert P. Mulligan has joined the firm in the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Strategic Relationship Manager for the U.S. In this role, Mulligan will be responsible for developing and maintaining the firm's relationships with national and regional broker-dealers, banks, independent financial advisors, and "supermarket" platforms. Mirae Asset plans to engage financial intermediaries to deliver its emerging market expertise to retail and high-net-worth investors. Mulligan will report to National Sales Manager Vincent J. León, AAMS®.

The firm also announced the addition of three new members to its National Sales Team. Matthew J. Brancato, Peter Corritori and Jennifer M. Fuentes have joined the firm as Emerging Market Specialists. The three distribution professionals will also report to León. These hires mark the beginning of a major expansion for the firm's distribution personnel.

These professionals will distribute the Mirae Asset Discovery Funds, launched by Mirae Asset in September with a lineup that consists of six emerging market equity strategies. The Mirae Asset Discovery Funds are the first registered products offered by the firm to U.S. investors. The firm manages over $50 billion in assets under management, of which over $30 billion is invested in emerging market equities, making it one of the largest emerging markets equity investors worldwide.

Mulligan joins Mirae Asset in New York with over 18 years of industry experience, most recently at GE Asset Management where he was the Director of National Accounts, serving the intermediary market. Earlier, as Divisional Vice President at Transamerica, he built a wholesaling sales force for the wirehouse and regional distribution channels on the East Coast. He previously managed teams of wholesalers at GE Capital and Keystone Investments.

"Bob has deep relationships with distribution platforms and we expect that he will significantly expand Mirae Asset's footprint," said León. Commenting on the other new team members, he stated, "The hybrid distribution model we have implemented for our Emerging Market Specialists will provide an optimum level of service for our distribution partners and clients."

Brancato brings his broad-based financial sales and sales training experience to Mirae Asset from Legg Mason, where he served as an internal wholesaler and training supervisor for the retail channel sales teams. Prior to that, he was a financial advisor with American Express Financial Advisors.

Relocating from Boston, Corritori joins Mirae Asset with a strong financial sales background, including his work as a regional consultant and inbound sales representative for MFS Investment Management. He began his career in investor services at UBS Global Asset Management.

Fuentes brings to Mirae Asset her wealth of experience with mutual funds and separately managed account sales. Most recently, she was a regional consultant in the independent broker dealer channel at Prudential Investments, where she had served earlier as internal wholesaler.
